June November is a film & video editor, writer/director & occasional educator. She studied Video Design & Production at George Brown College, and have been making movies for just about her whole life! (Including professionally for six years.) Starting as a child actor with keen interest in writing, She eventually made her way into the comfort of the editing room. When not editing she's usually somewhere along the process of writing & directing a personal, narrative film project. Weather working as a team player or at the helm she's drawn to themes of queer identity, (especially the messy parts) non-traditional families, isolation and our unspoken connection to each other. She feels it's important to tell honest stories, through her own experiences. Instead of trying to make a specific impression on an audience, her main goal has always been personal expression. She has also had a few wonderful experiences educating young people on the fundamentals of filmmaking, along with the importance of visual literacy. As an educator she feels most of her job is lighting the passion youth have for visual storytelling and getting them to think critically about the films, T.V., & online videos they see. June is delighted to have done so in Ontario schools and in Nunavut. (Formerly with Youth Ottawa & Nunavut Marketing) And with local Toronto organizations such as Queer In Post
